Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora) When Peter bought this tree in spring 2004, I thought the pot (by Dave Lowman) was worth more than the tree! But he persisted, found the right planting angle and worked conscientiously to shape the branches. In a year or two it will be exhibition standard. Photographed October 2007
The pine as purchased in 2004. It is totally untrained at this stage.   After repotting in 2005 at the correct angle, the basic branch structure was formed.
